Soap
Select an unscented, antibacterial hand soap, such as Dial Gold. Bar soaps and soaps with dyes and scents will cause dryness and discomfort.
Ointment
We recommend Aquaphor or A&D ointment. Avoid petroleum-based ointments like Vaseline and antibiotic ointments like Neosporin. Organic alternatives such as coconut oil, CBD salves, and shea-based butters are also acceptable.
Lotion
Choose an unscented white lotion such as Aveeno or Lubriderm. Organic alternatives, like the ones listed above, are also acceptable.
Paper Towels
Clean single-use paper towels of any brand will do. Do not use reusable towels of any kind, as they will leave lint and debris in and around your tattoo.
A tattoo is an open wound and should be treated as such. Refrain from touching the area with dirty hands and do not let others touch your tattoo. Do not allow your tattoo into contact with unclean surfaces. Do not scratch or pick at your tattoo.
Avoid UV exposure to your tattoo while it is healing; once fully healed, we recommend applying sunscreen whenever the area is exposed to maintain the brightness and clarity of your piece.
Do not submerge your tattoo in standing water of any kind for a minimum of two weeks. We especially recommend avoiding any chemically-treated water, like chlorine pools or hot tubs, until the tattoo is completely healed.
